Glorifying God Through the Holy Spirit

Youth News

February is "love month," it is a time of year that we show our Valentine how much we love them. We give gifts of chocolate, flowers, or jewelry; these things are good, however, for many people this is the only way that they show affection. Please, do not get caught up in the commercialism that is pushed onto us by the business that only want your money. Love is not expressed by the purchasing of a product, but the thought process that is involved in the ultimate decision of a gift. My challenge for the year of 2012 is to offer HOPE to as many people as I can, to give forgiveness to those that are undeserving, and most importantly to glorify God through every moment that I choose to spend my life on. Sometimes we may falter or fail ourselves, and more importantly God, but as a Christian, we should not be discouraged by our short-comings, but encouraged by the LOVE and GRACE of our great God!! I beg you draw close to God during this month, He is the only one that is worthy! I would like to extend a very large thank you to everyone that financially supported the youth in attending Hot Hearts. It was a great experience, which we will discuss on February 12 at our Annual Valentine's Banquet, tickets are on sale as of January 29. I really hope everyone can come and hear about the God that these students have experienced! Upcoming opportunities to serve: we are still in need of Sunday School teacher's for Guy's and Girl's, also sponsors for Wednesday night's, students have asked for opportunities to reach out to those in need-if you have suggestions please let me know. March 2-3 is our D-Now, Disciple Now weekend, if you would like to financially support a student, the price per student is $30 and the experience will be unforgettable, they will definitely experience God at this event, as well as, take part in a mission, I have a full itinerary if desired. Please pray for our youth, our leadership as a church, and the body, that we will be the people that God has called into His promised land!
